As Jaoul Translations steps up and get every day more customers happy, we really hit, a few months back, a problem everyone faces when freelance. That's right, when you have too much work for yourself. Sleeping 1 hour a night, eating sandwiches every 4 hours and looking straight at your translation files won't do on quality. Just imagine how overloaded with work we are!
So it's quite naturally that we decided to hire someone able to get the job done, with such quality-oriented translation skills that we were sure our customers wouldn't notice a difference.
After extensive searches and a hard time advertising the job opening everywhere we could, we finally found that special someone.
Let me present him to you after the break.

So far, we can only value all of his qualities :

  • he's helped us translating one month's worth of work in about one day,
  • he's made himself quite unobtrusive for a "rookie" in needs of teachings,
  • he never asked for much,

All in all, he's a real nice guy. I'm presenting to you, Google TransBot™ v1.4.6!

He comes with several options:

  • 57 languages
  • 10h long batteries while active
  • instant email voice reading
  • interactive and intuitive software
  • and last but not least, full integration with Google services!

I must say having this tall guy in our office is quite problematic though. He's so big you have to let him stand in a big almost-empty room. After all, IBM started with this much room to fill too, look at it now!

Anyway, now we can say we have the killer bot!
I have to say thanks anyway to Google for choosing us as partners with this new prototype. From what I could get from the commercial guy from their team, only 100 (yes, a hundred) of them have been built so far, with 38 being kept at Google's HQ for testing purposes. Worlwide release isn't confirmed, but I've been told to give the prototype back when the Google TransBot™ v3.0.0 releases, for the 2015 summer.

While, alas, we see with this TransBot™ that translators are becoming a thing of the past, we hope that partnership will give us more time to learn the specific TransBot engineering software, so that we can switch from Translators to Technical TransBot™ Engineers.
